Edmundo J. Garza , Executive Vice President , began his career as a financial consultant and planner in 1990 with Sun Financial Group. Later, he joined the insurance firm, John Hancock.

Subsequently, Mr. Garza joined the Office of Actuarial Studies and Investments of the Government Employee and Judiciary Retirement System, where he also served as Deputy Administrator for over three years. During this period he was in charge of the supervision and reorganization of the investment program with more than $900 million in assets, working closely with the consultants to the System, SEI Evaluation and Wilshire Associates.

Mr. Garza continued to provide financial consulting and planning services at Oriental Bank & Trust and later as an independent contractor. He has provided financial consulting services to many individuals and firms, including Savings and Loan Cooperatives, universities, insurance companies and others.

In 1998, Mr. Garza was appointed Investment Manager of the Trust Division of Banco Popular de Puerto Rico. In addition having the responsibility of supervising investment procedures, he also supervised the purchase and sale of securities for more than 400 clients. Also, in addition to client retirement plans, personal trusts, custodian and escrow accounts, he was responsible for the development of financial consulting services for the Bank's institutional clients.

Mr. Garza is a graduate of the University of Puerto Rico from which he received his Bachelor Degree in Applied Mathematics and a Masters Degree in Finance, both with honors. He was a professor of mathematics and finance at the same university for two years. He is currently a member of the Graduate Faculty of the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico, where, he has been teaching since 1988. Mr. Garza is an active member of several professional associations. He is registered with the National Association of Securities Dealers as a General Securities Representative (Series 7), a Financial Operations Principal (Series 28), a Municipals Principal (Series 53), Certified Investment Advisor (Series 65) and Futures (Series 3).
