Vega, after
traveling and living abroad with her family, Lily Vega came back
to the United State in 1975 and started working for the Regional
Sales Manager of American Express in the Products Marketing Division.
She along with her manger were in charge of clients in the Northeastern
Sector of the United States. She left New York City and moved to
Puerto Rico in 1978. Her first position was working for Merrill
Lynch Pierce Fenner & Smith where she learned the
operational side of the business.
In 1980 she joined Prudential
Bache in the Retail Division. She implemented a Market Research
Desk of the various products that the firm offered to their clients.
Provided daily market updates thru Radio WOSO (live & taped). Maintained and updated client
profiles for the Retail Division. Researched and created market
analysis of portfolios for individual clients of the Retail Division. Later
was put in charge of developing the Operations Dept. for the Institutional
Sales & Trading Desk.
In 1981, she was hired
by A.G. Becker to work on the Institutional Sales & Trading Desk where she designed and implemented various
reports for management, such as P & L, commissions and production
reports. She also was responsible for warehousing products
that were sold to fortune 500 companies and these products were financed
by various financial institutions. Acted as an agent for Institutional
clients in specified transactions for various financial institutions.
Left A.G. Becker and became a Registered Representative with E.F.
Hutton PR Inc., in 1984 where she obtained her Series 7 and 63 licenses.
In 1984 became an Account
Executive and participated and contributed in a start-up operation
of a new major broker/dealer in Puerto Rico, Dean Witter. Developed a customer base of over forty 936 companies. Executed
and helped structure various local transactions.
In 1986 she became Vice-president
of Institutional Sales & Trading
for First Boston PR Inc., and Increased client base. Structured
products to meet customer investment needs, designed sales statistic
reports for customer base and customized performance-monitoring procedures
for each client. Helped Investment bankers in the origination of
private placement CMO's that were offered to Institutional investors.
In 1995, she & Miguel Pascual participated and implemented the
start-up operation of Doral Securities Inc. as a full service Broker/Dealer
for Doral Financial in Hato Rey. She became Senior Vice-President/Retail
Trader for the Institutional Sales & Trading division.
She has joined Consultiva Securities Inc., as Manager of Institutional
Services.
She has been in the securities
industry for over 21 years. She is currently licensed with the
National Association of Securities Dealers. She is also a member
of the National Association for Female Executives and was an alternate
member of the Credit Research Department of the Municipal Securities
Rulemaking Board. Is presently a
member of the International Guild.
